An informal little guide I decided to write because I needed someplace to jot down all the little fun tricks I've noticed, not to mention the useful collection of information. I guarantee all the information in this guide is 100% accurate, if you believe otherwise and have proof I would like to see it... Seriously, I would, just leave me a message on my talk page so I can update the guide, but otherwise, I have tested everything on this page(except for what others have written, but i'm working on testing that).
If you play Fiona or Evie and would like to add some info on them, please feel free to do so, just make sure to leave me a note on my talk page.
Special thanks to Arturias for the Evie information.
Special thanks to coolstory5[1] for the Fiona information. Also a side note, NEVER go to the nexon forums for help; the people there are evil.
For everyone else, keep in mind I only play Lann, and therefore do not know much about other classes.
Use the Table of Contents or you will probably get lost! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
General Information[ | ]
Need to know stuff[ | ]
Chat Info:
- How to block spammers: type "/block (name)" and replace (name) with the name of the spammer.
- While running a battle, type "/escape" if you are stuck. It will then ask if you're stuck; after clicking yes, a loading bar will appear and it will say it's moving you to someplace safe.
Battle Info:
- 'Alt' key while in a battle shows money that's dropped, the health of your armor (see Condition and Deterioration), the mob's name (if they're alive), and it also shows items that have dropped that aren't in Evil Cores.
- Tokens are not taken once you start a battle - they're taken after you defeat a boss. Please read the page The Ferryman of Vindictus.
- Rather than falling off ledges, you can simply jump off of them by dodging just before you go over the edge.
- F12 can do 2 things for you:
- When someone has made it to the end of that map, a blue bar will appear to show that a party member has made it to the end of the map and is waiting for the rest of the party members. Simply hit F12 and it will take you to the next area without having to make it to the end or waiting for the blue bar to fill.
- Hitting F12 while on a boat will fill in your silver tokens for you. If you press it a second time, it will hit the ready button for you.
Game Info:
- Although this game is not "communication intensive" it is always polite to respond to party members and pay attention to chat in general. Ignoring your party members' requests is a great way to piss them off. Also, if you do not read the name of the party you're joining, you will most likely be kicked, as oftentimes people use party names to announce different goals that they have for that mission, whether or not they only want specific levels/classes to join their boat, etc.
- All character information refreshes after you relog. This includes when you join a guild, when you get a title, and if you would like to see how close you are to achieving a title. This is important to know for those quests that require you to get a title.
Title Info:
- Titles permanently add stat bonuses to your character whether or not you actually equip them.
- Equipment collection quests that grant you additional titles can be purchased in the general store.
Bosses[ | ]
Bosses and Hard mode:
- When farming boss drops it is best to do it on hard mode, giving you 1 extra drop. Also, if you believe having less boss HP is a good trade off for more damage dealt from the boss, this mode is also recommended.
- Bosses damage is multiplied. (Equivalent of Macha)
- Bosses have less HP, but there HP is not displayed.
- Bosses drop 1 additional item.
Spears:
- Consecutive hits with the spears will make the boss drop faster, the longer it takes you to get out more spears, the more time the boss has to recover from the last spear hit.
All Boss Information can be found at my Boss Index
Battles and Titles[ | ]

All Battle Information can be found at my Battle Index
For Information on tokens, please see: Tokens
For the Oaths; Solo mission, finish mission with 2 players or less, finish mission with 3 players or less, and finish mission with 4 players or less, please see the page on assisting.
The oath "Warriors challenge(solo mission)" is a special oath. It lowers the map count to balance it out for 1 person.
There are 2 pages that I strongly insist you read. The Ferryman of Vindictus and Assist. Both are extremely helpful for getting BP, getting BP without wasting tokens, and getting titles. Not to mention I've met far to many moronic people who don't know anything about assisting e.g. "I'm not accepting your assist, having over the max amount of people breaks the game" "I will not get my BP if you assist" "Having you assist will cost me more tokens"... Please people... Try reading and learning something.
There is a chance you will get the map that the mid-boss does not appear on, but there are some levels where the mid-boss will spawn no matter what.
Titles[ | ]
Certain titles are class specific, this is info on general titles that anyone can get. I have also grouped chain titles together, these are titles where you have to do the same thing a certain number of titles, but there are 3 titles, one for each interval. Also quest titles are not listed in this guide unless they are skill challenge titles.
If your looking for character titles: Lann Titles, Fiona Titles, and Evie Titles
- For Equipment titles you do not need to craft the rings of sets, if you have all the armor you can get the title.
- All titles that include a race or simply say enemies will have boss kills of that type count towards them, e.g If you kill Eflame with a spear, it will count as a point for the wisp piercer titles.
- For all break off titles, you do not need to finish the quest to get points towards the break off, once you break off the object a point is gained.
- Spider Bomber Titles: There are 2 quests that are good for this title, Meet The Cave Spider and The Five Spider Brothers. The best way to get the most bang for your buck is to stand next to a flat wall on a flat surface and throw the bomb directly at the wall. All though this does minor damage to yourself, by the time the bomb goes off the spiders should of gathered around you, giving you an average of around 8~9 hits per bomb, depending on the size of your mob.
- Grab Titles: Evies cannot grab, and therefore can not get these titles.
- Wisp Piercer Titles: Wisps are fairly easy to hit with spears, its simply a matter of timing, and what map you should use to grind out this title. I get asked "where should I go to spear wisps?" a lot, and I always recommend Decisive Battle, it costs 0 tokens, and spawns atleast 5 wisps per run, and thats only if your terribly unlucky. Another good wisp run is Ulchas's Relic, which has a guaranteed 9 wisps per run. For locations see #Decisive Battle or #Ulchas's Relic.
- Kobold Kicker Titles: The kobolds that destroy the bridges when you walk across them are weaker then other kobolds and can be killed in 1 kick, making them quite useful for these titles even if they aren't that common they still come in handy.
- Kobold Archer Enemy Titles: Kobold Archers have high centers, towards the middle of there chests. This makes it hard to hit them with the spear auto throw while there hopping around. Either wait till they stop to shoot at you to auto throw your spear, or manually aim it. Also as a side note, while standing still theres only a 30% chance that the archer will hit you.
- Vampire Piercer Titles: Vampires center is located right about there hips, and this stays the same weather they are standing or knocked down making it easy for you to spear them while they are on the ground.
A Title List.
For Lanns[ | ]
Lann Intro[ | ]
What Lann's Are[ | ]
Lann's are the damage dealers of Vindictus. Using their high attack rate they deal the most damage in this game, specifically with the twin spears Hurricane smash attack. Lann is also a highly solo-able character with twin swords. Lann uses up a lot of stamina, and does not have as many special skills as other classes. Your basic 'beat the living shit out of them' character.
Lanns have a fast attack rate. Lanns main stat that needs to be improved is agility, but use strength, agility, and willpower.
Choosing What Lann You Want[ | ]
Twin Swords[ | ]
For sword smashes and skills, see Sword Skills
Pros
- Easier to solo with due to dodge-ability.
- Can avoid attacks easier than Spears due to Slip Dash.
- Uses less Stamina than Spears while dodging.
- Can take advantage of a boss's short openings.
- Thousand Needle Smash's shock wave has a huge AOE.
- Double Crescent can knock a boss's item off and knock bosses down.
- No Fury Infusion means you get to keep your health.
- With Slip Dash you can stick closer to bosses and do damage.
- Can preform quadruple combo that spears Lann cant.
- Easier to gain SP.
Cons
- No Fury Infusion which means less Critical Hits.
- Spears does high damage, but this can be over come by continuous attacking or good timing.
- Spears has a longer reach.
- Lag can inhibit ability to chain combos.
- Can get knocked back during combos.
Overall, Twin Spears and Twin Swords are balanced. Choose based on your playstyle.
(Djjdiss guide on twin sword Lann's is a great place to pick up a couple tips. Twin Sword Lann Guide Note:Personally I recommend building strength instead of his will build, but thats just me.)
Writers Bias Brain Washing Technique
- My personal choice because:
- Dont have to party = less lag.
- Ability to get break offs.
- Dont sacrifice HP for damage, I already die enough.
- Spears cost more.
- My personal choice because:
Twin Spears[ | ]
For spear smashes and skills, see Spear Skills
Pros:
- Higher damage output than swords.
- Dodge roll obtained, which inflicts a smash attack and can be used to cancel lag between attacks.
- Longer reach than swords.
- 3960 Hurricane has MASSIVE range and allows for more mobility than swords.
- Fury Infusion, a self buff which fully restores stamina upon use, greatly increases Critical Chance, and gives a MASSIVE DPS increase whenever it is active. It's Spear Lann's most important skill. The skill can also be used infinitely at 1 HP.
Cons:
- Less survivability than swords due to lack of invincibility frames.
- Potentially less opportunities to attack, as swords can remain close to a boss, slipping through its attacks, while spears must wait for an opening. This, however, largely depends on the skill of the player to exploit openings during a fight.
- Dodge roll, while awesome, costs 30 stamina a use. This drains stamina FAR faster than swords, which have a low-cost Slip Dash which only gets cheaper the more you rank it. Also, dodge rolls don't have invincibility frames unlike Slip Dash.
- Fury Infusion costs health, meaning that it must be carefully managed. Or the player can be pro and never get hit.
- No Double Crescent, a powerful two-hit Smash attack that can knock off a Boss' item.
- Takes longer to fill SP.
Overall, Twin Spears and Twin Swords are balanced. Choose based on your playstyle.
(Stolen from beastlink's Twin Spear Lann Guide, if you wanna use spears, give it a read through.)

- Lann-only skill.
- Nimble Dash can cancel the wind-down animation of Slip Dash, allowing for 2 consecutive dash with minimal delay
- Nimble Dash's wind-down animation can be cancel by Thousand Needles, which can immediately be canceled by Slip Dash. This is still not as smooth as the transition from Slip Dash to Nimble Dash, but it helps.
- Nimble Dash costs about as much stamina as Slip Dash (8 stam vs 7 stam in Jan, 2015).
- The length of invulnerability frame is affected by Slip Dash Proficiency.
- Moves about 50% farther than first Slip Dash.

Additional Details[ | ]
- Lann-only skill.
- Requires Twin Spears to use.
- Consumes 7% of the player's Max HP to activate.
- Can be used even if Lann has 1 HP, but Lann will not lose his last hit point. Hence Fury Infusion is effective free at 1 HP.
- Dealing damage while Fury Infusion is active will restore HP. However, the total amount of HP restored will not exceed the amount of HP consumed by Fury Infusion.
- If Lann casts a second Fury Infusion before he recovers HP from the first Infusion, he will not be able to recover the HP consumed by the first Infusion by attacking.
- Increases attack, critical chance, and instantly restores 100% Stamina when executed.
- At rank 9, if Fury Infusion is used while moving (not sprinting), the effective cast time is instant. Lann can immediately perform another action (Attacking, Slashing High, etc.) before the casting animation is complete.
- Before rank 9, Lann cannot move while using Fury Infusion.
- When executed, the player's weapon will be surrounded by a white/bluish aura.
- Stacks with other attack increasing skills, such as Active: Berserker Spirit and Campfire buff.
- EU uses a different version of the skill.
- Also known as Liberate in foreign servers.

Spear Ranking Recommendation

Ranking OrderAs recommended by me
|
All Skills[ | ]
For a list of all Lann skills, see Lann Skills
Equipment[ | ]
Swords[ | ]
General Progression of Swords.
- Crimson Blade Twin Swords → Skyfrost Twin Swords → Twin Red Metal Longswords → Twin Bone Spiked Longswords → Blade of Ykesha → Soul Slasher
- Lv12: Skyfrost Twin Swords
- Lv20: Twin Red Metal Longswords
- Lv32: Blade of Ykesha
- Lv38: Soul Slasher
- Most people make the Twin Bone Spiked Longswords for lvls 28~31 but personally I just stuck with the Red Metal swords.
- All weapons level are given for crafting level, not ability to equip level, which may be lower.
- Skyfrost Twin Swords can be equipped at level 1 if you buy it.
- Twin Red Metal Longswords can be equipped at level 12 if you buy it.
Spears[ | ]
General Progression of Spears. You can gain the ability to wield twin spears at lvl 24 so swords until then are listed.
- Crimson Blade Twin Swords → Skyfrost Twin Swords → Twin Red Metal Longswords → Iron Twin Spear → Executioner → Blood Lancer → Golden Scale Twin Spear
- Lv12: Skyfrost Twin Swords
- Lv20: Twin Red Metal Longswords
- Lv24: Iron Twin Spear
- Lv28: Executioner
- Lv30: The Reaper
- Lv32: Blood Lancer
- Lv36: Golden Scale Twin Spear
- Another option to the Executioner is The Reaper, it has more Agility, but less Attack and Strength. Not to mention the Executioner is easier to get a hold of.
- One other thing to notice is the difference between the Executioner and the Blood Lancer is the Blood lancer has 400 more Attack and 10 Int, where as the Executioner has less Attack but has 12 more Strength, and 10 Agility.
Armor[ | ]
General Progression of Armor. Starting at level 10.
- Crimson Rage Set → Savage Leather Armor Set → Blood Prince Set → Spider Lord Set → Laghodessa Slayer Set
- Lv12: Crimson Rage Set
- Lv26: Savage Leather Armor Set
- Lv34: Blood Prince Set
- Lv41: Spider Lord Set
- Lv44: Laghodessa Slayer Set
- Savage Leather is optional, but you can not wear the full Blood Prince set until you are level 34.
- Spider Lord Set is required to make Laghodessa Slayer Set.
- All armor level are given for crafting level, not ability to equip level, which may be lower.
- Spider Lord Set can be equipped at level 38 if you buy it.
Bosses[ | ]
A list of boss tricks and strategies that only Lann can do, for basic information and strategies, please see: Bosses
- The Gnoll Chieftain. If you slip dash to the right side of the Gnoll Chieftain's circular swing. You can slide right under it without getting hurt.
- The White Tyrant. This boss has 2 major flaws a Lann can exploit. Flaw number 1. The white tyrants most basic attack is to squat into a pouncing position, then to raise its left arm and crush you. This is perfect for a small simple slip dash right under his left arm, it will leave you unharmed, and in perfect position to counter attack. Just make sure you time your slip dash right because the tyrants attack does track. Flaw number 2. The tyrants roar when he is at low health. This is a well known flaw, but I thought I would mention it for spear Lanns specifically. This is a perfect time to do a hurricane on him without getting touched. Just make sure you stay behind him, or to his side. I'd recommend the tyrants left side because his first attack does slant to the right a little bit.
Titles[ | ]
Full list of titles: Titles
Useful tips on achieving titles for Lanns.
- Vampire Piercer Titles: Vampires center is located right about there hips, and this stays the same weather they are standing or knocked down making it easy for you to spear them while they are on the ground (when they start to get up there hit box reverts back to match the body). To get these titles I would recommend doing 1 double crescent on a Vampire or Elder Vampire then auto throwing a spear. Make sure you fully hit them with the double crescent, if you did, it should knock them to the ground. If you aren't confident you've done enough damage to spear them, then give them 1 or 2 normal hits, then auto throw the spear.
- Windmill Expert Title: This title is one of the biggest pains to get due to Windmills low damage. The method I found was to use King Icedredges. They are stuck in place, and every attack they do will knock you down, I can guarantee it as long as your Standing Endurance is Rank C or lower. Get the Icedredge down to just barely a sliver of HP left, then run next to him and wait until he does a single forward attack. As long as you are hugging him, you will trapped between where he hit the ground and his body, letting you do 1 windmill and therefore kill him. Another tactic that high levels should be able to use is simply going back to perilous ruins and find a Spider pit(see Traps) then letting the spiders hit you until you are knocked back. This requires a lower Standing Endurance rank and a high damage/windmill damage output.
- Writers Note: I used a mixture of both tactics, first I used the King Icedredges until I capped. According to the Vindictus calculator(see Stats), I did 23 damage every windmill, and it took 2 to 3 windmills to kill a spider. So that should give you an estimate as to where you should be at to get the title that way.
For Fionas[ | ]
Fiona's Intro[ | ]
What Fionas Are[ | ]
Fionas are the tanks of Vindictus. Having the ability to equip a shield and the block skill allows Fiona to be the most hardy character in the game. All though she can only block normal attacks, she has a heavy stander ability to partial negate boss smash moves, and if high enough, reduce all damage taken to 0. Fiona is your basic take all the damage character, and when used well with the counter attack skill, she can be a very strong choice.
Fionas consume stamina when they block, this results in Fionas starting with more stamina then other classes. Fionas also take the most damage in battle meaning they start with more HP then other classes as well. Fionas have slow attacks.
Choosing What Fiona You Want[ | ]
Longswords[ | ]
Pros:
- Sword attacks are faster then hammer attacks.
- While attack with sword, you can cancel your attacks faster to guard.
- Swords are cheaper to craft.
Cons:
- Hammer gets additional smash attacks with there smash skills, which all though weak, still beneficial.
- With ever normal attack you also have a chance to get a critical hit.
- Hammers do more damage then swords, but are slower.
Hammers[ | ]
- Hammers are heavy, so guard cannot be used as quickly while Fiona is in swinging a hammer.
- Many hammer smashes damage enemies directly behind Fiona.
- Hammer smashes gain additional attack elements at rank F.
- All Hammer attacks are affected by Critical Rate, including normal attacks.
- Hammers generally cost more resources to craft than swords.

Bosses[ | ]
A list of boss tricks and strategies that only Fiona can do, for basic information and strategies, please see: Bosses
In King Ruler:
Hugging him will generally make him far less dangerous to a Fiona -- when at point-blank, he usually tends to use his counter-able axe swings or his charge move (in essence, he becomes a very large version of Wolf Tail). Just be careful if you're about to die -- if he does his leap-away move, he can actually deal (chip) damage by stepping on you. (Courtesy of Zanaduz)
In Fleeing:
To tell the difference between the (safely counterable) double axe combo and the (not safely counterable) leaping throw combo, watch the speed and direction of the SECOND swing (his left hand). The safe one is a slower overhand chop, whereas the one leading into the throw is a faster side swing.
Fiona CAN block his entire roaring axe combo -- use Guard thru the flurry of hits (5 hits) until there's a BRIEF break, then IMMEDIATELY drop to Stander to block the final smash. This will leave you in good position to attack his helmet. (Courtesy of Zanaduz)

For Evies[ | ]
Evie Intro[ | ]
What Evies Are[ | ]
Evies are the mages/healers of Vindictus. They can heal everyone in their party with healing runes as well as resurrecting party members later on in the game. Their destructive powers range from a huge summoned golem to the deadly fireball. Evies can also equip a deadly close-range scythe. Evie is a fine choice for those who like to have skills at their disposal. Evie is your basic technical character, using every skill to her advantage, weather your blowing through hoards, or supporting your teammates.
Evies use magical attacks requiring more int then str. Evies consume stamina through magical attacks resulting in Evie starting with less stamina. Being a mage, Evies also start out with less HP.
Choosing What Evie You Want[ | ]
Special Notes:
- Staff Evies' stamina regeneration does not stop during physical attacks.
- Both Staff and Scythe can use all alchemy skills.
- Scythe Evie will do a lot more damage with Int build seems how her stronger smashes do physical and magical damage.
Staff[ | ]
Pros:
- Extreme Int build.
- Cheaper to craft.
- Has high burst damage.
- Doesn't consume stamina while attacking.
- Can support teammates.
- Is multi-functional.
Cons:
- Has a very poor dodge.
- Has poor normal attacks and needs to rely on magic arrow and fireball, or alchemy.
- Has very low defense because she needs to rely on cloth armor for int.
(There is no staff Evie guide as of yet. But if you are interested in Evie you can take a look at Celadons guide on Evies; A Magician's Quarrel: A General Evie Guide.)
Writers Bias Brain Washing Technique
- My personal choice because:
- Its probably because I'm a Lann, but staff Evies are heaven-sends with there healing.
- Fireball does a ton of damage.
- Plays a supportive role that Evie is suppose to, unlike Scythe Evies. Call me prejudice, but Evie has poor defense and a multitude of long range attacks for a reason.
Scythe[ | ]
Pros:
- Very high smash burst damage(Highest smash damage in the game).
- A dodge ability(blink) that rivals that of sword Lanns slip dash. Quite useful due to its ability to go through enemies.
- Does not require as much int as staff Evie there by allowing her to equip light armor, and even heavy armor if the player so chooses.
- Is easier to solo with due to her ability to dodge.
Cons:
- Equipment is more expensive.
- Can not heal or use magic.
- Has 2 stat builds instead of 1 thus requiring more work.
- Has low defense, or must sacrifice less int and more AP for higher defense.
(I have not read Djjdiss's guide to Scythe Evie... theres the link, but just a forewarning, we did not see eye to eye on sword Lann.)

To use this spell, you must have a Healing Rune assigned to a quickslot.
You can select the party member you want to heal by pressing [ALT] with a number key or choosing from the party window.
<Controls>
Healing Rune
Keyboard: Use the Healing Rune assigned to your quickslots.
Additional Details[ | ]
- One rune can be used up to 4 times.
- Partially used runes are discarded at the end of battle.
- The first rune you gain access to is the crafted version, which costs 200g + 1 spider web + 1 life erg crystal. You craft the rune using the Craft interface in the Magic Shop. At later levels (around 20-ish, in the later battles for the second boat), you will gain access to the story Resenlian's Healing Rune Machine. This story has Resenlian's Healing Rune Generator as a reward which can be used to craft Resenlian Runes for free; however these runes heal 20% less hp.
How to Obtain[ | ]
Be level 10 or higher and complete Skill: Healing, which you get from Brynn in the Magic shop.
Prerequisite: Note that you must complete 4 crafting cycles of a Healing Rune (producing 20 runes total) before he will complete the story and give you the book that teaches you Healing.

Additional Details[ | ]
- Evie-only skill.
- Previously, before the Evie rewamp, the skill had a mechanic that was removed: it increased the damage from smeshes inflicted on marked enemies. And this significantly influenced the gameplay, determining the effective tactics of DPS rotations. However, this is no longer the case, and now smash damage dealt to marked enemies is not increased.
- What the skill description says is "while the mark is active and you can inflict additional damage with the Smash key." - it should be clarified that that it's about the ability to inflict additional damage by activating the explosion of the mark by pressing a Smash key (character snapping fingers), but not about additional damage from smashes.
- The description of the skill effects indicated: AoE +%. It should be clarified that it's about the parameter for increasing AoE radius, but not AoE damage.
- Deals DoT (Damage over Time) damage every 1 seconds. The DoT damage depends on your's M. ATT and BAL, also the boss's DEF.
- The effect of the mark is applied for 30 minutes, during which it can be released by pressing a Smash key. However, the DoT damage only dealt for the duration specified in the skill's effects description, which increases with the skill's rank (44 seconds on Rank 6). DoT damage continues to be dealt even after the effect is released.
- The info in the tooltip effect says: "Use drain to mark enemies" - this is misleading. In fact, you do not need to use Drain by presing Grab button to apply the mark, as it applies itself automatically when using Soul Skever. Usind Drain with Grab button will give an enhanced effect.
- Can have Life Drain, Spirit Bind and Bloody Thread "buffs" active at the same time as Mark of Death.

Skill Recommendations[ | ]
Staff
Almost all of the damage staff Evies deal is magic damage, so you want to rank up the skills that enhance your damage output. The skills you should focus on are listed below in order of importance:
- Firebolt
- Magic Arrow
- Magic Mastery
- Magic Critical Hits: Useful when you like to use Magic Arrows
- Eagle Talon: Not worth the AP cost for lower leveled Evies
You should also get the ability to create a Golem as soon as you get to level 42. Golems are extremely useful in boss fights.
Defensive skills are not worth the AP cost for Staff Evies because you should stay out of boss range most of the time.
The only Training skill worth ranking is the Intelligence Mastery. You should start ranking it up after the first 3 combat skills.
It is also only useful to level up Meditation to rank E. Any more ranks are not worth the AP cost when you have other skills to work on.
These skills are very important to Evie and for aiding the people in your party. The skills you should focus on are listed below in order of importance:
- Stamina Recovery: EXTREMELY useful to deal more damage in shorter amounts of time
- Healing
- Revive
- HP Potion Proficiency: To help keep your life up to save your healing runes for other players
The only Equipment skills you need to level up are Staff Mastery and Cloth Armor Proficiency, however once you get the chance, level up Secondary Weapon Mastery as well, as it will aid in bringing bosses down to attack.
You should level up Blind Arrow as much as possible. It deals a massive amount of damage and is very useful in boss fights.
If you like to play a more supportive role, you should also level up Regeneration. It does a large amount of healing in a short amount of time to everyone in your party.

Staffs[ | ]
Follow this setting will give you the most Int and M.Attack you can get.
- Crimson Blade Staff → Howling Staff → Strawberry Staff → Staff of Life → Watchtower → Blooming Staff
- Lv8: New Friendship Staff
- Lv12: Howling Staff
- Lv18: Aodhan's Staff
- Lv24: Strawberry Staff
- Lv28: Staff of Life
- Lv32: Watchtower
- Lv38: Blooming Staff
- You can get New Friendship Staff and Aodhan's Staff from Story Quests, but New Friendship Staff loses to Howling Staff in Attack and Int; Aodhan's Staff gives you more Attack and Str but Howling Staff is easier to get.
Scythes[ | ]
Progression of Scythes. You get your first scythe along with the ability to wield scythes at lvl 24.
- Crimson Blade Staff → Howling Staff → Battle Scythe → Crimson Blade Scythe → Crescent Moon → Death Crown
- Lv8: New Friendship Staff
- Lv12: Howling Staff
- Lv18: Aodhan's Staff
- Lv24: Battle Scythe
- Lv28: Crimson Blade Scythe
- Lv32: Crescent Moon
- Lv37: Death Crown
Armor[ | ]
Evie is a mage class and therefore wears cloth armor, but she can also wear other armor type if the right skills are leveled. Evie has a mana shield which helps protect Evie with her low Def, but mana shield is never something that should be relied on.
For scythe Evies, Light Armor is usually preferred, as it gives a balance between Def and Int, however some Scythe Evies may wear Cloth Armor for the increased Int.
Information about each type
- Cloth Armor: Evies main type of armor. Gives major Int boosts.
- Light Armor: Light armor is a good choice for Scythe Evies who also want increases in Def and Str, instead of just Int. (Light armor gives increases in Def, Str, and Int, but cloth armor is more Int focused.)
- Heavy and Plate Armor: High level Evies will be able to wear heavy armor and plate armor, all though they wont be able to wear full sets, wearing pieces can still give major Def and Str bonus's. Chances are in the future Evies will be able to wear full sets if the set is enhanced.
Cloth Armor
General Progression of Cloth armor after lvl 10.
- Lv12: Scarlet Witch Set
- Lv24: Sweetie Bear Set
- Lv30: Broken Ash Set
- Lv42: Rose Drop Set
Some say Lighter Red Tyrant Set is good replacement for Rose Drop Set due to its high Def. It can help you survive longer and let you concentrate in supporting teammates.
Light Armor
- War Edge Battle Set
Light armor can sometimes be used successfully on Scythe Evies because of the higher Def as well as Int.
The Weight Endurance skill needs to be increased before wearing light armor.
Heavy / Plate Armor Set
For additional Def and Str(beneficial to Scythe Evie) Laghodessa Slayer Set can be used. You will need to max out:
- Heavy Armor Proficiency
- Plate Armor Proficiency only if you plan on wearing the helm
- Weight Endurance
Even with all 3 maxed out, you still wont be able to wear the entire set.
Bosses[ | ]
A list of boss tricks and strategies that only Evie can do, for basic information and strategies, please see: Bosses
- If you are planning to solo a boss, make certain you pack lots of healing items like potions or healing runes for the staff. Many of them, you won't have long to rest before they're back up, trying to corner you and destroy your shield. Once your shield goes down, you have very little protection against attacks, unlike the armored classes.
- Staff Evies are largely burst damage. Wait for a boss to go down or rest to run and and use your Firebolt skill. If the boss is down long enough, you can quickly use your Stamina Recovery skill and Firebolt again.
- Magic Arrow Challenge Mission: These missions you can do alone, but it's better to take someone along with you. Be certain you tell your boatmates that you need to kill the enemies with the magic arrow, or you don't get the title and you've wasted a trip. Doing so will make conquering this challenge a breeze.

- Obviously, grabs are not available for Evie, but every other type of attack-killing is available.

Table credit goes to Bakuryu[2] and Mabinogi Heroes Laboratory guild who I'm not going to link because its Korean.
To see the original document see: Damage Formulas/Percentiles
Note: You may need to make an account to see it.
Calculator credit goes to a Frank Rice, and once again the Mabinogi Heroes Laboratory guild.
The calculator can be found at: Damage Calculator
For those of you that would like to know the formula's, here they are along with there respective tables. Keep in mind these were done on the Korean server and this could be a complete waste of my time. But for the most part, I think some of this is correct on the NA server.

Traps[ | ]
Trap Traps[ | ]
A section dedicated to the traps and how to safely disarm/avoid them. Most of it is common sense and this is simply more of a list of traps, but it's always nice to list a solution.
Pillars: This deserves and honorable mention because they aren't technically traps, but destroying one that's standing upright will cause a avalanche of pillar pieces to come tumbling down on top of you and effective knocking you down.
Ye olde Spiked Log: A spiked log on 2 wires that swings back and forth. The log is always set off by a trap wire that you 'have' to walk through. These traps can kill if you are lodged under it in just the right fashion.
- Disarmed: Theres plenty of ways to deal with this trap, but the easiest and most basic way is to just use your characters single smash attack from the side of the log. This will give you enough range to hit it, and keep from getting hurt.
- Found in: Perilous Ruins, Hoarfrost Hollow, and Ruins of Sanctity.
Ye olde Spiked Rotating Thing: A spiked pillar that spins while going back and forth in an area.
- Avoidance: Rooms to wait in are provided, but for Fiona, if chosen she can block and it will go through her, she will be damaged but will not be knocked down.
- Found in: Perilous Ruins, Hoarfrost Hollow, and Ruins of Sanctity.
Ye olde Donkey Kong: A hill with objects thrown down it, in Perilous Ruins pillars are rolled down it, in Hoarfrost Hollow boulders are rolled down it, and in Ruins of Sanctity pillars are rolled down it while you have ruins collapsing on top of you.
- Avoidance: When running up the hill, stick to the left wall, when running down, always stick to the right side.
- Found in: Perilous Ruins, Hoarfrost Hollow, and Ruins of Sanctity.
Ye olde Spider Pit: An area in which if you walk past a certain point, a plethora of spiders will spawn. The lag they induce is much more dangerous then there attacks.
- Avoidance: These spiders only spawn on extra routes that you don't necessarily need to take.
- Found in: Perilous Ruins.
Ye olde Rope Bridge: There are many bridges in Hoarfrost Hollow, and they can be easily destroyed by hitting the 2 wooden stakes at both ends of the bridge. This is often done by Kobolds while your crossing. On a side note the Kobolds who chop down the bridge are extremely weak and can be killed in a single hit.
- Avoidance: If there are 2 Kobolds standing at the other end of the bridge, obviously this is a trap. At this point you can do 1 of 3 things:
- Jump down and fight whatever's down there, saving yourself the trouble.
- Run across and at the last second do a dodge and hope you land safely next to those nice cuddly Kobolds.
- Kill one or both of the Kobolds with a spear or bomb, all though chances are with a bomb you'll blow up the bridge yourself.
- Found in: Hoarfrost Hollow.
Ye olde Iron Maiden: A bed of spikes that rests on the ceiling in a hallway, with 2 levers on both ends of that hallway. The enemy not being smart enough to take advantage of this generally opts to sprint towards you and show you how effective this 'Iron Maiden' really is. If you are caught in this it will kill you in 1 hit unless you are saved by the skill Life Flare. (Also useful as Evie to farm revives to get your Revive skill.)
- Avoidance: Don't run under it when someone is next to the lever, and when fighting under it(not recommended) do not put yourself between an archer and the lever.
- Found in: Hoarfrost Hollow.
Ye olde Land Mines: Explosive bombs placed in the game. Will explode from a simple impact and more annoying then deadly. In Ainle theres a smaller version you can pick up and throw.
- Avoidance: If you don't wanna accidentally hit it while fighting just throw an object at it and they'll explode.
- Found in: Hoarfrost Hollow, and Ainle.
Ye olde Toad Pit: Much more threatening then it sounds, this pit is right before then end of the map, it consists of 1 giant hole in the ground, 2 ledges, and 4 spiked blocks that try to punch you into a pit filled with Toads, and not the ones from mario.
- Disarmed: Much easier then I made it sound, all you need is 1 party member to make it across, which is done easily by walking across the right... literally, the right ledge. There is a lever on the other side which will make a bride span 2/3rds of the gap. That party member can also walk through the exit and let the other party members hit f12. Also one can hit the lever with a spear to activate the aforementioned bridge and cross over half way instead of walking along the wall the entire way.
- Found in: Ruins of Sanctity.
Ye olde Stone Crusher: An area where stone pillars slide back and forth on the ground.
- Avoidance: Find the timing and run by when there in the wall.
- Found in: Ruins of Sanctity.
Ye olde Hole-in-the-ground: A simple hole in the ground covered with wood n' stuff, not to hard to see as it's in the middle of the field.
- Avoidance: Don't walk on it? Took a genius to figure that one out.
- Found in: Prairie Entrance.
Ye olde Cave In: 2 Cliffs that are rigged to a trip wire and will blow up and topple in on anyone who is sitting in the valley below.
- Avoidance: Trip the trip wire, then wait till the rocks stopped falling to go through the valley.
- Found in: Prairie Entrance.
Ye olde Razor Tops: Tops that spin on tracks with blades all over them. There are 2 that go across the area, and 1 that goes through the area, but will be inactive until someone or something hits its lever at the other side of the area.
- Avoidance: Don't start attacking something while standing on a track, chances are it'll be back before you finish your attack.
- Found in: Prairie Entrance.
Ye olde Gopher Holes: Holes in the ground that when approached spikes start poping out of them. In one battle they are hidden in the grass, but otherwise they are generally easy to see.
- Avoidance: Practically impossible to dodge, the best tactic is to dodge/sprint over a hole that last had a spike pop out of it. You'll probably be hit anyway though.
- Found in: Prairie Entrance.
Obstacles[ | ]
Traps that aren't quite traps, but get in the way none the less.
Ye olde Rock Pushing: The hole that you need to jump down is blocked by stakes that you can not destroy yourself. Fortunately the Kobolds left you some really big rocks near by that you can push onto the stakes and thus breaking them.
- Solution: Push a rock onto the left side of the stakes, if you push it onto the right side you will fall onto the second platform and do a small amount of damage to yourself.
- Found in: Hoarfrost Hollow.
Ye olde Campfire: Not the one you can make but trees that are on fire. Its hard to tell the difference between ones that can hurt you and ones that cant, but they'll always be in the same place on every battle and there slightly larger then the fires that wont hurt you. The fires that can hurt you can be put out with the grayish blue pots that are always near by that are filled with water.
- Solution: Don't run into them, but you can toss enemies into them, even though the fire pushes them out after hurting them. To put out the fires throw a grayish blue pot at it, there are always many of these pots near by.
- Found in: Ainle.
Ye olde Battering Ram: An area you can not leave that is blocked by a door that must be knocked down with a make-shift battering ram.
- Solution: Walk up the path and give it a solid hit. This will destroy the wood thats holding the battering ram up and let it swing down to knock open the doors.

Ye olde Portcullis: A metal gate that blocks shortcuts. Can be opened by levers found on the other side of them.
- Solution: There are 2 instances of portcullis's:
- There are 2 gates, with a long hall you can walk down to get in between them. Hitting the lever from this side of them is impossible. Why they were put there, who knows, probably for when you have lazy ass teammates who don't wanna help.
- A single gate. The lever is just on the right side of it, as long as you use an attack with some range to it, you can open the gate allowing you to by pass a single area.

Bosses at low HP[ | ]
When a boss reaches 1.5~1.25 HP bar, 2 things happen, they get tired, and sometimes, they gain a new attack. This is a list of what happens to each boss at low HP. This list can be useful when you try to do bonus missions on hard difficulty where it doesn't show there HP.
- Gnoll Chieftain: Gets tired and sags, he lowers his head making it easier to knock off his helm. 5~5.5 seconds.
- Kobold Bosses: Slumps and then starts to wobble. Jolly Ebeloch, Brother Ebeloch, Big Brother Ebeloch, Cunning Etunoch
- Source of the Rumor Bosses: These 3 bosses are special in that they don't need low HP to get tired. They stop and start coughing randomly through out the battle. Hemorrhoidal Older Brother, Feeble Ebeloch, and Constipated Older Brother
- Kobold Chieftain/Sturdy Emuloch:He will slump and wobble then take 2 breaths very quickly. 4 seconds
- White Tyrant: Falls off his legs to the side and lays there for a couple of seconds. Gets new attack, where he roars, then berserks across the room. 4.5 seconds.
- Servant of Hell & Information Chief Kalis: Slumps and starts coughing blood.
- Nine Fingers: Slumps and takes a couple deep breaths. 6 seconds.
- Giant Spider: Gets scars along its back.
Note
- All Vampire bosses do not get tired, but have long down times.
Bosses Break Offs[ | ]
Certain Bosses have things that you can break off of them. All of these have titles that go with them, it is always recommended to collect break offs if you can. Break offs get broken off by 1 of 3 ways, the easiest being hit it with a spear, a bit harder is a hitting it with an object, and the hardest being smashing it. For Lann its a bit easier to smash it because of the skill Double Crescent. Breaks can only be picked up after the boss is killed; you can tell it has broken off by the Evil Core that flies off, having a grey label with a ? above it, these cores are counted as a boss drop and will also be auto-looted at the end of a battle.
Note that hitting the boss after he has been knocked down doesn't count toward the break-off hits. But if the boss is simply tired, it will still count towards the break-off hits(see Bosses at low HP), this is often times the preferred strategy.
- Gnoll Chieftain: The Chieftains helm. Breaks after 2 hits. This is easy to achieve with spears after he gets tired, or with smashes after he attacks.
- Kobold Chieftain/Sturdy Emuloch: His left shield piece, the one thats bandaged. Breaks after 3 hits. Easy to do with smashes or objects. Can be broken off in Kobold Chief and Prepare for Counterattack.
- White Tyrant: His right eyeball. Breaks after 5 hits. Difficult to do with spear, your best chance to hit it is when he is roaring or after an attack.
- The Knight: His spear. Breaks after 3 hits. Easy to do with objects and smashes. Easy with spears after practice. Similar to Blood Prince, you can spear the thick part of his blade right as he fireballs up.
- The Blood Prince: His spear. Breaks after 5 hits. Easiest to do with smashes. Also can be easily achieved with spears. Wait for him to start up a fireball and quickly aim for his spear. You have a 1.5 to 2.0 second grace period, but with enough practice, can be hit every time.
- Warchief Black Scar: His mask. Breaks after 3 hits. Easiest with smashes, just as easy with spears. Can be broken off in Gnoll King, Ruler of the Ruins and The Fleeing Gnoll King. In The Fleeing Gnoll King he has same break but it drops his mane instead of his mask. Same method to breaking it as his mask.
- Goliath: His right hind leg (depending on your graphics it can look rashy, or it will look normal). Breaks after 5 hits. Easy with spears.
- Thorn Laghodessa: His right foreleg. Breaks in 5 hits. Spears are the easiest way, although it can be hit with smashes and objects as well.
- The Blood Lord: His head. Breaks in 3 hits. Spears are pretty much the only way seems how hes pretty tall.
AIs[ | ]
AIs are pretty basic, but these are just some quick descriptions to explain to you which enemies can have noticeable different AIs.
Wisp AIs[ | ]
Wisp's have 2 different AIs, a lazy AI, and an active AI.
- Active AI: A quick moving wisp that wont stay still and gets to its attack phase faster. It happens often among regular wisps but is common with High Wisp. It's the AI that mid-boss wisps use e.g Bryialne, Eflame, and Argontel. An active AI is harder to hit with a spear because it is constantly moving. It's stopping time is a second or less, and it takes longer to throw a spear then the AI stops for. Theres only 2 moments where you can hit the wisp with a spear, the easiest being before or after it attacks. When wisps attack they do a slow circle and quick fly at you, then do another slow circle, while it circles is a perfect time to hit it. The harder way to hit an active AI wisp is to time your spear so you throw it just before it stops, the spear has a very very small tracking time after you start to throw it, if you throw the spear while the wisp is towards then end of moving you can nail the wisp with a spear, all though this is very hard and would take a master spears-man.
- Lazy AI: Your average wisp AI that slowly floats around. This AI is the most common wisp AI. It has a long waiting time before it moves and doesn't attack often.
Archer AIs[ | ]
Archer AIs have terrible accuracy when your standing still, and surprisingly amazing accuracy when you are moving. I have estimated there hit rate while your standing still to be about 33% hit chance. So basically out of 3 shots, the archer will hit you 1 time. This AI holds true for all AIs including ranged boss AIs, such as the Ebeloch brothers in Hoarfrost Hollow. All though there are some exceptions such as Singleshot from Ruins of Sanctity, and Jagged Tooths special 5 arrow smash attack.
