Story Dialogue
Kirstie is looking for you. Visit the Traveler's Shop.
Kirstie (NPC Icon) Kirstie

Hey, come on in.

Have you heard? Not that rumor about the place where
"wishes come true." Though, that might be related...

Nah, I'm talking about a plant that lets you live forever.
At least, I assume it's a plant.

No one's really sure about that fact,
but there is a rhyme about it that goes like this:

"Those who lighteth, knoweth not
the sweet taste of eternity's glow.

Those who lighteth not, knoweth
the bitter untaste of eternal shadow."

(Kirstie looks at you.)
Get it? "Taste eternity's glow."

That means anyone who eats that plant
will live forever. Anyone who doesn't will die in "eternal shadow."

Adventurers have tried for ages to find to find that herb, always
in vain...until now.

Someone found that plant growing in the frozen caverns.
Of course, that's just a rumor.

Last I heard, it was found around the place where Hemdrills live.
Care to confirm?

(Optional: Talk to Kirstie again.)
Kirstie (NPC Icon) Kirstie

Find anything?

It's not easy, huh? Haha, of course it's not. It's a legendary plant!
Of course it's hard to find.

Obtain a Ghost Fern from the Battle Quest Frost Stones, then go see Kirstie.
Kirstie (NPC Icon) Kirstie

Find anything?

I knew you were capable. How long did it take you? Here, let me see.

Delivered Ghost Fern
Kirstie (NPC Icon) Kirstie

Eh, this isn't anything special.
<Kael>, this is just a normal Ghost Fern.

You couldn't find anything else in Battle Quest Frost Stones? Perhaps I misheard.

Maybe it was Battle Quest Brynn's Research... I apologize.

But you know, the harder an item is to find, the more valuable it is. Willing to try again?

Obtain a Crimson Clover from the Battle Quest Brynn's Research, then go see Kirstie.
Kirstie (NPC Icon) Kirstie

So. Find anything in Brynn's Research?

Is that it? Let's see it.

Wow, so this is the legendary...
Hm? Eh, this isn't it either.

This is just a Crimson Clover.
Hmmm.

Are you sure this is all you could find in
Brynn's Research?

I've been researching while you were gone.
I think I've tracked down the plant's name.

It's called an Eternal Fire Bloom. It must be very
rare, because there are no records of what it looks like.

Could you sniff around a bit and investigate, <Kael>?

If you manage to discover something, you can just bring me the
actual plant itself.

Try to obtain information about the Eternal Fire Bloom. Talk to Shayla, Marrec, and Reilly. (Marrec is the only one you must talk to)
Reilly (NPC Icon) Reilly

The Eternal Fire Bloom? I know! I know!
I know where to find one! But no, I won't tell you a thing.

Won't breathe a word. Shhhhh.
And it's not what you think it is.

Heeheehee! you look so confused!

Shayla (NPC Icon) Shayla

The Eternal Fire Bloom? You want to prolong your
life...in a screwed up world like this?

Always thought you were wonky in the head.
But really. The Eternal Fire Bloom is a rumor.

YOu know what a rumor is, right? Means it's too good to
be true. Chances are, it's not even real.

But keep dreaming. It's probably all that you know how
to do, ha!

Marrec (NPC Icon) Marrec

The Eternal Fire Bloom? Oh, right, right. Someone spotted
a kobold eating one of those in Source of the Rumor.

The kobold turned all strange afterwards... Guess it
didn't agree with him!

If you're curious, go see for yourself!

You received information on Battle: Source of the Rumor.
Marrec (NPC Icon) Marrec

Hope you find what you're looking for.

(Optional: Talk to Kirstie again.)
Kirstie (NPC Icon) Kirstie

Did you find out the location of the
Eternal Fire Bloom?

Then don't just stand here!
Get it before someone else finds it first!

Obtain the Eternal Fire Bloom in Battle Quest Source of the Rumor and bring it back to Kirstie.
Kirstie (NPC Icon) Kirstie

Oh my! Did you really find it? I was starting to get nervous...

Delivered [[Eternal Fire Bloom|Eternal Fire Bloom]]
Kirstie (NPC Icon) Kirstie

So this is the legendary Eternal Fire Bloom?
Huh? That's funny... This is... This is a candle!

(Kirstie's eyes suddenly widen.)
Of course! I get it now...

"Those who lighteth, knoweth not
the sweet taste of eternity's glow.

Those who lighteth not, knoweth
the bitter untaste of eternal shadow."

"Light..." "Glow..." "Shadow..."
Plus the strange name...

"Eternal Fire Bloom."
It was describing a candle all along!

No wonder I heard a kobold started acting weird
after eating one of these!

Does that mean you did all the work for nothing?
Wait! What's this written here...?

This candle will last forever if it's never lit.
What?! Ugh...
