Talk to Jornin
(Macklin and Jornin are talking about somethin important.)
Macklin
How're the repairs comin' along?
Jornin
I've finished reinforcing the outer barrier. But Mack... This only buys us a little bit of time.
It won't be enought to hold them back...
Macklin
Better than nothin'. Without Eochaid, we ain't got a lotta options.
Jornin
I should've asked Culann to go with Lorgrach. With Eochaid, they would've been unstoppable...
Macklin
No point dwellin' on the past, kiddo. That's how the greats fail. Ya gotta do everythin' ya can to move forward.
Jornin
If only I was an ogre... Then I'd show 'em...
Macklin
Aw, come on! What good's that line of thinkin' gonna do for ya?
Macklin
It's pointless, is what it is... Hm?
(The nearby bell suddenly begins to sound, a deafening ring echoing through the air.)
Macklin
No... They've reached the guard post! Damn it... Eochaid, where are ya, ya bastard?
Jornin
...Should I start evacuating the townspeople?
Macklin
Aye, that might be best, kiddo... No, no, wait a bloody second!
Our town's on the outskirts of Berbhe, so it's tough fer the enemy to spot.
But we ain't invincible...
There are no monsters downtown, but out here... A few of 'em managed to stick around.
The Silent Knights usually deal with 'em fer us. That's what Eochaid used to do.
I remember one time, there was a monster so huge that the only thing we could do was drive it out of town.
What a horrible abomination it was...
That bell you just heard come from the eastern guard post. That thing's probably out there, wreakin' havoc.
Jornin
You haven't left yet? You should all be packing! Things might turn ugly pretty soon...
Jornin
Worried? No, I'm not worried. I'll be fine. Just go back to the inn and get ready.
