Additional Details[ | ]

  • Automatically charges while running.
  • Evie starts with the ability to use Eagle Talon; learning and ranking the skill increases damage and decreases time to charge it.
  • Be careful when setting up Magic Fire Mines. Setting them up too close to objects and boundaries causes them to instantly detonate.
  • Setting up Magic Fire Mines very close to enemies causes instant detonation, and a more powerful attack.
  • Depending on your aiming ability, Magic Fire Mines can be forced to detonate early by shooting secondary weapons at them, or throwing items you pick up. Enemy ranged attacks (like vampire's fire ball) also detonate the mine as will Evie's Magic Arrow.
  • Magic Fire Mines will self-detonate if nothing comes into contact with them for a period of about 15 seconds.
  • There is a way to combine Eagle Talon and a Magic Fire Mine in one move. It will consume stamina required for both moves. To properly execute it:
    • From a walk, hold smash and then begin holding the shift key.
    • When Eagle Talon charges, quickly release and hold the smash button again to trigger Eagle Talon.
    • Continue to hold the smash button until Magic Fire Mine is set.
  • It is also possible to combine Magic Arrow with Magic Fire Mine.
    • Start running and begin charging Fire Mine when you're ready.
    • Immediately after beginning to charge Fire Mine release the Shift key and hit the hotkey for your magic arrow. Continue holding Smash.
    • Magic Arrow can be interrupted if the Fire Mine is set before the animation completes so you must fire Magic Arrow as soon as you start charging Magic Fire Mine.
  • Another useful technique is canceling run while still charging Magic Fire Mine. This can be done by doing a normal attack while still holding smash button. This technique provides more control over mine placement as well as stamina recovery while performing normal attacks.
  • Running consumes more stamina before eagle talon is ready than when it is charged. Because of this, higher ranks in this skill effectively reduce the stamina cost of running by reducing the time needed to prepare eagle talon.
  • You can set a mine and then stand on the same spot so that the first mob to try to hit you gets blown up instead. Depending on the AI of the mobs you're fighting you might catch three or four in the resulting explosion. Note that some types of mobs will hit you and then the mine if you try this.
