Break Off Guide

This guide is to help those having trouble getting the 'Break Off' from bosses. Videos will be put in the guide first, while Image Aides will be put in later.

NOTE: I only have a Lann currently, as such all videos/aides will be using him. I have no idea if Fiona, or Evie have any skills like Double Crescent, which allow Lann's the reach needed to hit some of the Break Off's (don't worry I show how to get them with Spears and Objects).

ANOTHER NOTE: All videos have Annotations with some information on what to do.

ADDITIONAL NOTE: All Boss moves are made up by me. Have no idea what their official move list, if any. They're to give an idea of what the boss does, and so I don't have to use an even longer sentence to explain what attack I mean.

ANOTHER ADDITIONAL NOTE: I have currently stopped playing Vindictus, I am unsure if I will go back to it. Other people are free to edit this, or the Admins/Moderators of this Wiki can delete this page. Which ever happens, happens. If the Wiki Admins/Moderators do not delete this, please either put "Additional Info by" then your name.

Currently 4 through 25 have nothing on them and only have place holder text.

Gnoll Chieftain : Exquisite Crimson Rage Helm[edit | edit source]

During Decisive Battle, located on his Head it falls after two hits.

The best way to get a good lock on is Helm, is to use a Spear or Object after he has done Hammer Slam. This makes his Helm wide open and he takes a little bit longer time to recover than from his Hammer Spin.

With Objects the player can only hit him after his Hammer Slam and Hammer Spin. When using Spears just toss it at his Helm (Which is harder to hit when he's running and more recommended after using his attack, or during an attack).

Attacks to watch out for is his Hammer Spin if hit twice he can take a good portion of players health, even to the point of incapping. When he tries to Kick , if quick enough the player can get a hit off with a Spear (to his Helm).

Sturdy Emuloch : Destroyed Spiked Shield[edit | edit source]

During Kobold Chief and Prepare for Counterattack, located on his Left Arm it falls after three hits.

There are 4 (5) chances the player can attack his shield.

  • 1: After he comes out of his Spike Curl
  • 2: After he does his Smashing Shield 2 (When he targets someone and goes after them for 2 attacks, not his random flail he does after Spike Curl)
  • 3: When he Roars
  • 4: When he is Exhausted
  • 5: Just walking around

When trying to get his Shield, do not be greedy, especially during his Spike Curl.

There are 2 things to watch when he goes into Spike Curl.

  • 1: He looks around
  • 2: He does not look around

If he did number 2, get away. This the only time he does his Spike Flail when he comes out of Spike Curl

When using Objects or Spears the Shield MUST be towards the player. Since how the hit box is for his shield, it is very tiny when it is not facing.

Giant Polar Bear (White Tyrant) : Savage Eye[edit | edit source]

During Dethrone the White Tyrant, located on his Right Eye and pops out after five hits.

Now it is highly not recommended to use Smash Attacks or Special Attacks (i.e Double Crescent) since it is very dangerous to be close and it being a small hit box, it is pointless.

So far the only attack I've seen work, is Windmill. Which is almost pointless for how much damage he can do.

Now since this a Raid Boss, I would not recommend soloing him or throwing Objects/Spears/Attack to his eye while he is mobile. Stay away from those stone mounds in the cave, there is a chance of getting stuck on those. When he gets low on health, he will do his Tyrant Rage in which he will do three 360 swipes, across the arena.

When he is kneeling position yourself to the front o the head, and aim for the red glowing eye socket. Since the hit box is the smallest encountered so far, there is little room for error. With Objects, hit the head since they're so big and have a higher chance of hitting the eye, especially when picking up an Ice Cube (Recommended over Barrels and Boxes).

The best way to get it his by either having a teammate catch him with a chain hook while you spear his shoulder or by getting as far away from him and shoot a spear at his shoulder while he is running directly towards you. During the last method, it is easier if alone and if you wait a second or two before shooting as he sometimes move to the side before coming towards you.
