Story Dialogue
Since you're new in town, go stop by the Cathedral.

...Did you hear?

Supposedly, Herunne's laundry was blown away by
the dragon as it flew past her home.

The dragon nests near her home, so this is
hardly an isolated incident.

I myself was rudely awakened
one night by a great crash on my roof.

When I rushed to investigate, I found a
great pile of the dragon's...droppings.

The amount of food that beast consumes is
obscene! No wonder it...leaves...so much.

I can hardly understand Keaghan
putting us through such trials.

Perhaps I should move to Ainle.
Yes, I know it burnt down!

It would still be an improvement!

And who knows, maybe that damn dragon burned it down.

Gilliam (NPC Icon) Gilliam

Silence! Have some respect for this place of solemnity!

(The whispering citizens rush out of the Cathedral.)

Gilliam (NPC Icon) Gilliam

Deplorable...

(He turns and notices you with a start.)

Who are you? I've never seen you before...
Are you a cadet? What is a cadet doing here?

(You explain that you're getting acquainted
with the town.)

If you have so much time, perhaps you should
help the townspeople with their hardships.

As you surely overheard, the complaints about
the dragon are mounting.

Complaints about the dragon? Go to the Bar to listen to what people have to say.

(One person complains loudly.)

That dragon keeps me up every night with its
howling...look at these bags under my eyes!

(Another person pipes up.)

Hey, that's nothing. At dinner last night, that monster's
squawks made my daughter choke on her food.

(You hear another person interject.)

You should report that to the Royal Army.
I mean, they don't let dogs crap on the streets, do they?

(Yet anohter [sic] angry voice is heard.)

Come on. That's lord's private soldiers.
The Royal Army doesn't care about our problems.

Krunk (NPC Icon) Krunk

Hear words, Cadet?

All the time.

Hoo-mans angry.

Royal Army know?

Go deliver this news to Brakis at the Royal Army Base.
Brakis (NPC Icon) Brakis

Huh? What's the matter?

(You tell Brakis of the complains [sic] you've heard.)

Ah, yes...that sounds about right.
People have been complaining for awhile.

In truth, do you know how much
that thing eats?

(Brakis checks his ledger.)

5 sheep, 20 stacks of hay, 27 baskets of fruit...
Oh! And on top of that, 3 horses.

3 of our very valuable horses!
All that for a giant beast that terrorizes the town.

From that perspective, their complaints make sense.
But they cannot see the dragon's value in battle.

It is worth an entire division of soldiers.
Simply spreading its wings sends enemies running!

It is our ultimate weapon.

[You select "But..."]:

Brakis (NPC Icon) Brakis

Right...that hardly matters if the people it
protects want it gone. I know, I know.

We need some sort of plan...something
to get people to appreciate the dragon.

Hm...
Any ideas?
