Marrec ... Ceara just updated on the situation... We know what the document says. "The chief that opposed us has been killed...by a human, no less. The remaining gnolls have united and agreed to join you. "Our main forces have congregated in the Ruins of Sanctity to prepare to attack. Rampage will lead them to the prairie. "I will lead the rest to join them after sealing the Ruins of Sanctity. The entire gnoll race vows complete loyalty to Shakarr." And it's signed by Gnoll King Black Scar, no less. This is terrible news indeed. That human he's talking about is you, <Karok>. This could mean trouble. Marrec (Marrec snorts.) That's why you left the investigation up to US, isn't it? You didn't want to get your hands dirty. Good thing, too. Everything you touch turns to-- Aodhan Marrec, that's enough. Let's focus on the task at hand. Understood? Now, that gnoll king's second that <Karok> fought was Rampage, I expect. Since the main commander was still in the Ruins of Sanctity, the main forces probably haven't headed to the prairie yet. Gwynn And we should be grateful for that. Our fears have come to pass. The gnolls have joined the Fomors... (Gwynn nods at Aodhan.) Captain, gather your men. Aodhan Gwynn... You're not thinking of heading to the Ruins of Sanctity, are you? The Royal Army will-- Gwynn (Gwynn silences him with a swift motion of her hand.) I know what the Royal Army will do when they find out, Captain. But this is my mess to clean up, and clean it I will. The paths are treacherous. Watch your footing. Do not assume your back is safe because it is to a wall. Things may jump at you. Our objective is to efficiently and stealthily eliminate the gnoll king. Minimizing casualities is a priority. Marrec, take the juniors and scout. Identify the gnoll's movements and pass that information along. Captain Aodhan, you will join me. We will distract and divide the gnoll's main forces. <Karok>, you will be spearheading the main mission. Defeat the gnoll king. Now, troops, stay sharp and return in one piece. That is all. We found Black Scar without encountering their main forces. While we didn't kill him, Black Scar has lost credibility among his people. The remaining gnolls will likely hide in the ruins. We have successfully averted this crisis. Good work, everyone. And well done, <Karok>. I will reward you for your work. You will now be able to carry one additional item into battle. You've earned it. Marrec Gwynn! Our scouts have sent a message! They've spotted a giant black gnoll captaining a ship! But the ship was manned by gnoll archers, so our scouts couldn't follow. They lost sight of the ship... Gwynn Can't get even a moment of peace around here... Marrec It's obvious where they went. The prairie! We must give chase! As soon as the Blades are mobilized, let's-- Aodhan Hold on a minute, Marrec. I don't think things are that simple. What is your assessment, Gwynn? Gwynn We cannot head to the prairie. We have no proof that's where Black Scar's ship went. Marrec What are you talking about? Where else would he go? That's where half his troops are! Gwynn So you assume. However, the situation at Fobellow Prairie is...delicate. We won't be given permission to venture there unless we have definite proof that's where Black Scar wen. [sic] Kirstie If you had that proof? Gwynn Talk to me about that proof you mentioned. Kirstie (Kirstie nods.) It was when I was investigating the Ruins of Sanctity earlier... <Karok> provided a distraction for me. Deep in the ruins, I heard two chief gnolls talking... Then Black Scar appeared. I couldn't understand everything they said. They spoke in both Gnollish and the Fomorian tongue... But it seemed like they were talking strategy. Afterwards, Black Scar handed each chief a map. He told them to meet at the location indicated on the map, should anything go awry. Which apparently, it has. Gwynn (Gwynn narrows her eyes.) I see. But let me ask you this. You've chosen to ally with the gnolls instead of the Royal Army. Why are you telling us how to kill Black Scar? Kirstie (Kirstie closes her eyes.) No good will come from this war between Fomors and humans. This war has no end. If the gnolls get involved, they'll be annihilated. I have no wish to see that happen. Better for them to lose their leader and flee to the ruins, where they will be hidden...and safe. Gwynn (Gwynn raises an eyebrow.) This was has no end, hmm? Is that what you believe? (Gwynn turns to Aodhan.) Well, Captain. Can this huntress be trusted. Aodhan Kirstie would not needlessly endanger us. I believe her. Gwynn (Gwynn nods and turns back to Kirstie.) Very well, we will follow your advice, huntress. Do you perchance know the name of the two chief gnolls you overheard? Kirstie Yes. They are called Rampage and Dim Gray. Gwynn I appreciate the information. (Gwynn turns to the mercenaries.) Did you all hear that? We need to find those maps. After that, it's only a matter of time before we track down Black Scar and eliminate him. For now, our targets are Rampage and Dim Gray.
