List:NPCs

From Vindictus Wiki
Jump to: ,

Non-Player Characters, commonly referred to as NPCs, are any character in a game which has their own actions and mannerisms coded into the game by the developers. They are usually found staying in the same place all the time, but may move around if their programming causes them to do so. More commonly in Vindictus, however, NPCs are characters which maintain shops (ex. ), perform services such as crafting for players (ex. ), provide quests (ex. ), and/or just "interact" with the player (ex. ).

[] Non-Player Character Actions In Game

Non-Player Characters can do many things of interest to the player, aside from the basic line of dialogue a player gets by using the "interact" feature.

[] Stories

NPCs start, help out with, and end stories also known as "quests" in other games. These NPC-created stories often involve killing something, retrieving an item(s) for said NPC, or talking to another NPC. Often, these stories can be easier than they seem, as the ones that involve may not need you to deliver the killing blow, or the items you need to get can often be acquired from another player.

[] Trading

NPCs provide another service in the form of buying or selling items. Some low level items such as bottles, reagents for crafting, or equipment the becomes obsolete quickly. Thus, buying items from these NPCs is less useful than selling to them. Selling an item to an NPC is not a laborious process, but it is often a smarter move than selling selling an item on the Marketplace. You may be able to get more from these NPC vendors than you would from a player in game.

[] Crafting

Crafting is one of the several ways a person can get better equipment, and the easiest way to get equipment that can be traded/sold to other players. Crafting is the process of getting materials, either by purchasing, trading, or farming (the process of getting an item by killing a creature or many creatures repeatedly), and giving the item to an NPC with the ability/recipe to create the intended item. These recipes are added to the NPCs knowledge bank by completing the required Battle Story.
