Equipment are a special class of item that can be equipped by your character. Equipment is then broken down into three separate groups: Armor, Weapons and Accessories. Armor provides most of the defense (except for shields which are considered weapons) and stat bonuses for the class, weapons provide most of the damage, and accessories provide a small amount of anything. Most armor/accessories can be used by all classes, however, weapons are class specific.
